Friday Master Classes

Beyond the Walls: Master Classes

For over a century First Baptist Church of Glenarden has been dedicated to developing others to reach their God-given potential and serving those in need in the community and around the globe.

The Master Classes are designed to inspire, encourage and equip leaders in a more hands-on, intimate setting. We will share transferrable principles and proven practices to help you serve in your role more effectively no matter the size of your organization, church or ministry.

201: All We Do Is Win: How to Win With Youth Inside and Outside of the Church

Ministering to children and youth is a strategic way to build a foundation for spiritual development. Come learn how to influence the lives of youth, youth leaders and their parents both inside and outside of the church.  Participants will also get a special behind the scenes look at the Friday evening Unashamed service which will serve as a real-time demonstration of the principles learned in the Masterclass session.

202: This is How We Do It

The FBCG Music and Arts Department uses their God-given gifts to lead the congregation in lifting up the name of Jesus and setting the atmosphere for worship. Witness how we prepare for worship and learn how your music ministry can collaborate with the Senior Pastor and the Holy Spirit to usher in the presence of God in the church and the surrounding community.

203: Establishing Relevance through Community Engagement and Partnerships

How can we be light in darkness if we only hang out with other candles? For years, FBCG has been a strong pillar in the community. Come learn how to establish relevance in your community and serve as a beacon of light to the residents in the community through a non-profit arm, namely in the areas of Education, Community Services(Employment readiness, Emergency Empowerment, Outreach) and Healthcare.

204: Education and Training

We are called to win souls for Jesus and to walk alongside new believers as they grow and develop in their spiritual walk. In this session, we will share ideas, insights, and information to help you develop a Christian education and training program for your church, organization or ministry that encourages comprehensive personal growth and spiritual development of the whole person in all aspects of life.

205: Establishing Systems for the Salvation Process

This training will equip you with an intake strategy to lead people to Christ, guide you on how to collect their information efficiently and demonstrate ways to prepare new converts as candidates for Baptism. In addition, you will learn how to effectively share Jesus Christ with others in a sincere yet systematic way whether in service, at home, or in the community.

206: Mental Health First Aid (certification available)

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
